Please browse our Web site. You will find information about us, our center, our services and fees, pre- and post-op instructions, and general information on why spay/neuter is so important.

Thank you for visiting!

Thanks to the great folks at Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Inc, we are offering 25 FREE SPAYS & NEUTERS for Pit Bulls and Pit Pull mixes on Thursday, November 12, 2026 only.
Included are a rabies vaccine, pain medication, and an e-collar.

Only 11.38% of the dogs we fixed last year were pits. These dogs are deeply loving and loyal, yet often misunderstood and accidental litters can put them in danger quickly.

This is one day only and spots will fill fast. Call 337-264-1088 now to secure a spot.

Lafayette Animal Shelter & Care Center is
Introducing Cats Clocking In,
Lafayette's Working Cat Program!

Cats unsuitable for traditional adoption will be employed where pest control is needed such as barns, farms, factories, warehouses, stores and private property. The cats get a home with food and shelter, and their employers get a natural pest control solution free of poisons and traps.

With the assistance of Wild Cat Foundation/SpayNation for Dogs & Cats, working cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and ear tipped at no cost to the adopter.
